Dr Cheang Peak Chee

Dr Cheang is a dedicated medical professional with a strong background in anaesthesiology and pain management. She holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and completed her Master of Anaesthesiology at the University of Malaya. Additionally, she has also achieved a Fellowship in Pain Medicine awarded by the Ministry of Health.

Dr Cheang has a solid foundation in clinical practice, having served in various capacities in several prominent medical institutions in Malaysia. Her professional journey began as a House Officer at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Klang (HTAR), and she progressed through roles as a Medical Officer at different hospitals. She further honed her skills during her Master of Anaesthesiology training at the University Malaya Medical Centre.

Notably, she has dedicated herself to the field of pain management, evident from her clinical specialist position in anaesthesiology and pain management at various hospitals. Dr Cheang has also broadened her expertise through clinical specialist roles in anaesthesia and intensive care.

Dr Cheang has significantly contributed to her field through research, study, and presentations. Her work includes:

·       Co-authoring a study that compared the clinical performance of various laryngeal mask airways in children

·       Research and presentations on innovative approaches in anaesthesia, such as acupuncture-assisted anaesthesia in parathyroid surgeries and superior cluneal nerve blocks in high-risk gluteal carbuncle surgery.
