His qualifications include a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Pakistan and a Master of Surgery in Orthopaedic Surgery from the University of Malaya, and various fellowships, including one in spine surgery in Hong Kong and another in joint replacement and sports from the University of Malaya.
