My Movember

UCSI Hospital looks into Movember. Movember was established in 2003 by a few friends just outside Melbourne, Australia. During Movember, men grow a moustache for the month, getting friends, family, and colleagues to donate to their effort. Men and women can also choose to “Move or Host a Mo-ment”. They want men to take action to live happier, healthier, longer lives and do this by investing in critical areas such as Prostate Cancer, Testicular Cancer, Mental Health, and Suicide Prevention.
This November 2023, Pedelec Malaysia, Established in 2001, Malaysia’s electric bicycle manufacturer, with international standards such as ISO, EN, and CE, crafted a one of its kind E-Bicycle, hand assembled, and specially designed and drawn by Malaysian own Ms.Louise Lau. Louise is a sculpture, painter, and curator of many art shows in Malaysia and Australia.
This “UCSI Movember E-Bicycle” was presented to Tan Sri Dr.Noor Hisham to congratulate him on his appointment as Chairman of UCSI Healthcare Group, and to commemorate his exemplary leadership in managing the healthcare sector response in the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia.
In the discussion "UCSI Hospital & Pedelec (M) will be looking to organise an 800KM in June 2024, cycling Challenge around Malaysia", with a working theme of “June For Men”. The discussion evolves around getting 800 participants riding 800KM, in 8 days, to raise RM800,000 to set up Prostate Cancer Program in Negeri Sembilan.
Prostate cancer is the third most common cancer in males in Malaysia. Early prostate cancers are usually asymptomatic. Therefore, prostate cancer is known as a silent killer. Let’s educate men on early detection of prostate cancer, as it is a very treatable disease.
